3rd week of September

If dealing with elections 10 hours a day wasn't enough, we decided to go see the documentary "Electoral Dysfunction." The film tackled some of the issues facing the electoral process and issues we deal with on a daily basis.

After years of waiting, The West Wing has finally arrived on Amazon Prime instant video. For some reason, neither of us have seen the series and have anxiously waited for it to become available on either Netflex or Amazon. For the past week, we have spent most evenings tuned in to the drama of the Bartlett White House. It is especially interesting to watch the scenes filmed in D.C.

Ben had to work the pre-game at the Nationals game and afterwards, Kelly and our friend Erika joined Ben for the actual game. It was beautiful day for a game and the Nationals didn't disappoint. The 10-4 win included 3 home runs and another dominant pitching performance by Gio Gonzalez. A Cy Young candidate this year, Gio picked up his 20th win of the season.

On the way home, we stopped by the Barracks Row festival. While amusing, if fell well short of H st festival last weekend. We enjoyed a carmel apple and headed home. The rest of the day was dedicated to college football and relaxing.

Sunday we spent much of the afternoon watching NFL football and eating chili. We headed to Baltimore for the Sunday Night Football game of the week between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots.

Although we had some slight logistical issues prior to the game, including traffic, no tickets and unreasonable parking options, we ended up seeing a terrific game between the bitter division rivals. The Patriots, led by future hall of famer Tom Brady, dominated much of the game, but the Ravens drove 70 yards with 1:55min to go in the fourth quarter to set up the game winning field goal for the 31-30 win.

In addition to being a wild game, there were plenty of interesting characters in attendance.

Who would have though someone could have been crazier than the guy in the above picture.  Luckily for him the streaker below took the crazy award by running around on the field until he was taken into custody.
